Irish sea moss is a superfood and type of red algae found in the waters of the Caribbean and waters of Ireland. For hundreds of years it has been used for medicinal purposes, it got its name because it was often used as a source of nutrients and food during the Irish Potato famine of the 1800s. Irish sea moss contains high amounts of certain nutrients, including folate, vitamin K, iron, iodine, magnesium, calcium and many more for a total of 92 of the 102 minerals the body needs to function.
